Flops

2. All of Us Strangers

  3. Hello,

My name is Sylvain Kalut and I’m going to review the film ‘One Life’.
I really liked this film because it’s based on a real story which very touching! ´Nicky’ is the main character and all you want to do during the film is give him a big hug! The music, the quality… everything is just like a great film. The best part of the film is the moment at the end when they show real footage and show a video of all the people that rises when they asked the question: ‘Who here owes their life to Nicky?
I would give this film a good 9.5/10, it’s historical, cute and you can watch it and understand it no matter how old you are.
    Thanks for reading my review.

  4. the sixth sense

I loved the film, I didn’t lose the thread and the film kept me in suspense throughout. the film makes you think a lot. the film is about a child who sees dead people which scares him extremely. This child was followed by Doctor Malcolm to determine what made him so afraid but Doctor Malcolm was not able to help him at that time, a few years later the doctor was killed by the « child » who became an adult then committed suicide because the doctor did not keep his promise. once dead we understand the whole story of the child. I thought I understood everything but the film still managed to surprise me at the end, in fact when we discover at the same time as him that Doctor Malcolm is in fact a ghost and that he saw what he wanted to see . as a ghost he was able to help the child and understand him better and vice versa.

  5. « Challengers »

The movie is an intense and captivating sports drama that explores the world of tennis while also being an « erotic thriller » (wording used online) about unhappy people who seem to be bonded. I noticed a kind of love triangle where the three are in constant competition for victory. I might not be very objective in writing this review, as being a tennis fan and having Zendaya as a top star at the moment, I find it hard to criticise the work. Zendaya’s performance is captivating and disturbing at the same time (I still can’t figure out her true intentions and motivations towards the boys). I also really liked the development of Art’s character (Mike Faist). However, I found the plot sometimes predictable and the characters underdeveloped. Plus, I sometimes struggled to follow the film’s timeline when it switched quickly between different periods. For me, the film remains quite good because it offers an interesting perspective on the principle of wanting victory at any cost, raising a debate on how far one is willing to go to achieve it. Overall, it’s an enjoyable film, though not an incredible one, but not an ordeal either, as you said in one of your previous comments :).

I found this movie really interesting, especially the way it is made. The way that the two parts of the movie are connected is really satisfying. I truly appreciated the fact that the main character was Sammy since the beginning. This was a really great plot twist, maybe the best in the history of cinema.
Additionally, the way we change our minds about some characters or hypotheses in each new “moment”/flashback of the movie was remarkable.

I was dumbfounded by this movie! I will give it a score of 9/10 because it was awesome. Christopher Nolan never lets us down.

  7. Challengers

I enjoyed watching this movie despite the disappointing end … I think that I more enjoyed it because I’m myself doing tennis in my free time. There was a lot of suspens especially a the end of the movie, during the final game of the match. I’ll use a « star » system to rate this movie.
    Scenario: 2/5
I didn’t love the end of the movie and the story it’s telling despite the fact that I really found interesting the way the film had to be seen. The back and forth were well used and we learned about the goal of this match in the present little by little while learning about the 3 main characters.
    Acting: 3/5
I didn’t find it great but good anyway. Zendaya’s character was horrible but well played by the beautiful actress. Philippe and Art were not such good as her.
    Audio: 4,5/5
The songs played in the back were well chosen and at the perfect moment I find. I also liked the noise of the balls being hit by the rackets.
    Video: 4,5/5
It’s for me just perfect every camera plans when we are above the court and under the ground, when the camera is the players’ POV or when it is the balls’ POV. The expect imperfection was how the balls were transmitted on the screen that was a but strange.

I so agree with you saying it’s not the movie of the year even though I enjoyed it !!

  8. Hello, I am Jessi Khouri, and I watched Challengers, and I didn’t really like it. I didn’t like it because the story is not interesting and we are projected into the past and then the present every minute, and by the end we are lost. Tashi kisses Art, then 10 minutes later she kisses Patrick, and it’s like that all along the film, we don’t know who she loves. You get the impression that there are only 3 characters, there is very rarely another character and it’s boring to see the same 3 characters for 2 hours. I give 4/10 to this film.

  9. I loved this thriller called Se7en (even though it’s a bit gory) for many reasons: firstly, I thought the cast was amazing. I’d already watched the actor Morgan Freeman in the film “Now You See Me”, but to see him in the main role here was a real pleasure. Brad Pitt’s performance also contributed to my enjoyment of the film. Secondly, I found the plot so addictive that I couldn’t put it down. Thirdly, I enjoyed the final ending of this thriller because it was really unexpected, complicated and so well imagined that it left me breathless.

For all these reasons, I think Seven clearly deserves a 9/10.

  10. One life – Emmanuellle Pulinckx

I personally liked the film very much, throughout the film, Nicky’s character made me very sad. The way he blamed himself really touched me,  I just wanted to console him for the whole movie.

but I think the character of Nicky’s wife could have been given more prominence, her feelings about her loved one’s guilt and her inability to make him feel better could have been interesting to see.

although according to some people who I understand, the film can be seen as slow, but in my opinion (“nicky”)Anthony Hopkins’ acting totally makes up for it!

For me, this is going to be a must-see film, because no matter your age you can enjoy it !

for all these reasons, for me this film is a 9.5/10

  11. One Life

    I loved One Life.

As for as I am concerned, I found that the movie was an emotional movie and directed very well. I think that my appreciation is accentuated because I like history of the second worldwide war in the movie. I also liked the elderly Nicky because his performance is excellent. I say that because we can read his emotions on his face. One of the most unbelievable moments in the film occurs when Ricky returned to the tv show and the whole audience was children that he had saved from the Nazis. In conclusion I would definitely recommend this film to anyone who likes to watch a beautiful movie.

  12. I loved this film called ‘seven’ for many reasons. the cast, the action, the plot and the atmosphere when you watch it. firstly, the actors in the film are incredible, I had already seen Morgan Freeman in ‘les évadés’ and he impressed me but I liked him even better in seven. Secondly, the film generally creates a stressful atmosphere, but it still managed to make me smile during the meal scene when Morgan Freeman is taken aback laughing. Thirdly, we can see that throughout the film the two detectives (Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt) get closer and closer and become friends. I was so into the film that the end even made me angry. In conclusion, I recommend this film to anyone who wants to see a quality film.

  13. Hello,

my name is Louka Sibille and I’m going to review the film « The Fall Guys ». I really enjoyed it, I quickly became attached to the main character, Colt Seavers, who was always trying to do the right thing even if he didn’t always succeed. Unlike the villain, Tom Ryder, who is arogant and thinks he’s better than everyone else. The film wasn’t very complicated to understand and it wasn’t boring. The trailer made me want to see this film and it’s pretty faithful to it. I would have liked the film to have a bit more humour but I still recommend it if you want to watch it with the family. For me, It’s a solid 8/10

     «Challengers»

I’ve heard a lot of people talking about « Challengers » and honestly I was disappointed, I was expecting much better.
I thought there would be a lot of action and twists, but it’s actually a pretty boring film: not a lot of music, not a lot of action given that it’s a film about sport, and the dialogue isn’t very interesting.
I also found the plot uninteresting or non-existent, the story is very basic. We’re always revolving around the same 3 characters, with actions that become irritating because they’re too repetitive: Art and Patrick are either fighting over Tashi, or over who’s going to win the tennis match.
It seems that not much effort was put into this film.
In short, this film wasn’t very enjoyable to watch.

  15. The king’s speech

    I really liked « The king’s speech ».

At first, I chose to watch it because it was like a safe pick for me, it is based on real story where there should not be any blood of other gore stuff.

At the start of the movie, I found it hard to understand because of the lack of context. But once that I were immersed in the story, I found myself laughing so many times especially at the swear scene. Also it might seem insignificant but I found it really nice to have a movie that is solely with English actors not American ones. At first it was a bit hard to understand, especially when Albert was speaking, but it was so nice to hear (The British accent is my favourite one).

So I would definitely recommend this movie, I find it a good challenge to test your passive comprehension. Also, I do not recommend this for people who love action movies, it has a slow start and the « plot » takes its time to unfold. otherwise it is really worth to watch.

    The Killer

I was a bit confused at the beginning because the man talks a lot and we don’t really know what’s happening, we only see him doing like his daily routine, except with a gun at one moment that he didn’t use. It was very weird at first.

But after all, it was what I was expecting with the title: a man who kills.

It was not the best film I’ve ever seen but the movie itself was still pretty good even though they lost me at some times… I think that’s why I didn’t find it amazing at first but when I understood a bit after, I think it’s a really good movie.

I’d still recommend it for those who like murder films even if it’s sometimes a bit trash.

    Million Dollar Baby

I think it’s a drama very well produced and directed by Clint Eastwood.

Firstly, because the actors, Hilary Swank and Clint Eastwood performed excellently.

Secondly, I think the plot twist is quite unexpected, and the ending is very touching, it’s an emotional movie that brought tears to my eyes.

I was also impressed by the way the relationship between Maggie and Frankie is described, which developed from nothing. In contrast, I was shocked by the scene, where Maggie’s family is still trying to exploit her on her deathbed.

In conclusion, I didn’t really like boxing before watching this film, but after seeing Maggie’s fights, my opinion changed.

For all these reasons, I would give 8/10 for this movie.

  18. I chose the movie «Groundhog Day».

It’s a wonderful film directed by Harold Ramis and with very good actors like Bill Murray. I find this actor particularly talented!

What I like in the old movies is the mood and I don’t know how to explain but in the movies of the 90s there is something extra, a bit like magic. Moreover, here, there was this snowy and soft side like a Christmas movie and I love it!

For an old English movie, I find it easy to understand. The vocabulary is rather simple so it’s easy to understand the story.

As for the scenario: I loved the theme and I did not expect it even though in fact the title means everything! I find that the film remains captivating despite the fact that it is all the time the same day that starts again and again. Something will always happen so that will make it impossible to predict the end unlike in some movie that since the beginning we know how it will end.

In short I think it is a perfect movie for a chill afternoon during the Christmas holidays with a good hot chocolate in bed. Moreover it is very accessible because it is available on Netflix.

  19. « Challengers »

When I went to see challenger I was quite intrigued since everyone was talking about it while watching the movie I was surprised, because the fact of having flashbacks while returning to the final match was well thought out the actors play well the actor’s’ acting was really cool, we really looked like tennis players who wanted to do everything to win but what my attention is focussed on is rather how it’s filmed I really liked the music that went with the scenes of the match, we really felt the competition.

The thing I find a pity in this movie is that apart from the central match, the movie was flat, we knew in advance what was going to happen.

  20. Momento

I found this film super interesting and fascinating to watch. At first I found it hard to understand, but as the film progresses all the scenes fit together like a puzzle. I loved the fact that the ‘moment’ and flashback parts were linked together and that you only find out after seeing the whole film. Obviously, the fact that the main character has been Sammy all along is a really incredible plot twist. I imagined every possible scenario except that one. I think my favourite films are those that turn our minds inside out like this film. Thank you Christopher Nolan for this amazing movie.

    Challengers

I was very curious to discover this film, many people had told me about it. Some found the film disappointing, others didn’t.

In my opinion, the film directed by Luca Guadagnino was really good. I liked the way the camera shifted of perspectives. The flashbacks were very well done, everything makes sense as they progress. The only downside is that it takes some time to get into the heart of the story. We don’t understand much things at the beginning. However, I would have liked to have a different ending who explain more than just this.

In summary, this film is very enjoyable to watch, not too complicated to understand after the beginning. But thanks to the actors who perform really well.

  22. Groundhog day

I liked this film, but I didn’t find it exceptional. I like romance stories and comedies, but this one was a little bit boring and not really funny. But I liked the actor’s performance because he went through a lot of emotions like depression or madness and many others. And he managed to make them feel through the screen. I like the way he becomes a good person for his wife at the end. I also find the end a little bit frustrating because we don’t know exactly why he relives that day time and time again, and especially why it stops. Or I didn’t understand it.

    1. Civil war

The film is set in the near future in the United States. All journalists want to be the first on the scene of war to tell the story that is happening in the United States. In short, it’s the end of America as we know it.

Lee is a female war journalist who meets a young girl, Jessie who also wants to become a war journalist. Lee, takes photos of people being attacked, killed and even burned alive without reacting. Lee trains Jessie to become a war journalist like her. The war photographer is accompanied by the journalist Joël, ready to interview the President of the United States who remains with the journalists. So they want to go interview him because he’s been doing nothing for too long. On these routes you will meet local people about civil strife and show young Jessie the truth.

I think the main theme of the film is good but I found it too slow for me so I’m mixed on my overall opinion.

  23. The sixth sense

In this film by Night Shyamalan, we follow the life of Cole, a little boy who sees the ghosts of dead people. With the help of psychologist Malcolm Crowe, he will be able to get rid of the ghosts that haunt him at every moment of his life.

In my opinion, this is a very good film.

Firstly, throughout the film you can see little details that make you guess the end of the film (if you’re observant enough).

Secondly, I think that the actors play very well, especially Haley Joel Osment (Cole), you can see the fear and surprise on his face when he is surprised by a ghost. And his character also shows a lot of courage for an eight-year-old to put up with the sometimes frightening images he sees and which haunt him.

Thirdly, there’s a wonderful parent-child bond between Cole and his mum.

For all these reasons, I strongly recommend that everyone sees this film at least once in their lives, whether you like horror films or not.

  24. Hello, my name is Noah Legai and I’d like to tell you about my review of the film Sleeping Dogs.

I really liked this film, especially the end when Roy (the policeman) regains his memory and understands that he was actually the Guy that killed Dr. Wieder, who was doing everything he could to understand the investigation and solve the doctor’s murder in order to clear the man who was accused of the murder. I also liked the flashbacks, where Roy relives the scenes in his head and understands everything. It’s really disturbing, because you’d never think he was the one who killed the doctor. I would rate this film 8/10.

    Thanks for reading my review

    The Killer

I would like to share with you my honest review about the film « The Killer ».

    Scenario: 2/5

I like the chapter structure because it is like a little series and you want to see the rest. But for me, the scenario is not really intressting. It is too repetitive. The characters talk too much and It is too slow. I prefer more action.

    Acting: 4/5

Acting is good. The killer is cold and emotionless. The brute and his dog are very violent and aggressive. The expert looks smart. The client looks very innocent. Each actor is good in his role.

    Visual: 5/5

I love the visual. It immerses us in the life of a killer and create a morbid atmosphere. However, it is colourful and I really like that.

    Audio: 5/5

The music is a central element of the film. There are also a lot of ambient sounds (heartbeat, gunshot, …). It reinforces the immersion.

In summary: I liked the film but it lacked action for a film about a killer.

  26. Review « one Life »
I chose the film ‘One Life’ and really loved it. I think it’s a really touching film and the fact that it’s based on real events adds something to it. As far as I’m concerned, I’m very interested in the world of the Second World War, so the film suited me perfectly. What made me keep it was that I knew some of the actors and I knew they were very good. My favourite moment was at the very end when we see all the children who have been saved by Nicky stand up and Nicky turns around when he wasn’t expecting to. I even shed a tear at that moment. In short, I recommend this film 100 per cent.

  27. My review of the movie “Million Dollar Baby

As far as I’m concerned, I really enjoyed this film. On a scale of zero to five, I’d give this film a 4.

Firstly, because the ending disappointed me a little. Although Maggie had already fulfilled her dream, I thought “Mo Cuishle” was going to fight to the end as she did throughout the film and do everything to get back in that ring and beat “The Blue Bear”. Which she didn’t, asking Frankie (her coach) for the definitive anestesia.

Secondly, I found the film produced by Clint Eastwood well-directed. The family bond between the two characters was so realistic. My favorite character was Frankie, played by the director. It’s unusual, but having a producer play one of his own characters really gives a good indication of the ideas and values he wants to convey in the film.

Thirdly, the plot revolved around a number of interesting themes, such as the search for identity, sacrifice, camaraderie, family and choice, offering deep reflection on various moral dilemmas.

In conclusion, if I were to recommend this film to anyone, I’d for the boxers, of course, but I’d also recommend it to people who don’t dare set out to fulfill their dreams, because it’s well worth the effort. That’s the message, the piece of cake.

Ps: The little expression “the piece of cake” is inspired by a quote from Alfred Hitchcock: « For me, cinema is not a slice of life, but a piece of cake ».

  28. One life

This movie, inspired by a real story, tells the emotional story of Nicholas Winton who saved 669 Jewish children in Praga from the Nazis who are about to invade the city. In 1938, during the Second War, Nicholas and some friends struggled to try protect and to save these children from being taken to concentration camp. He wanted to send them in London in host families by train. To do this,he had to make for each child visas at the London Embassy. There were 9 trains planned, 8 were able to leave but the last one didn’t start before the Germans envaded the city.

I really appreciated this movie, it touched me a lot, especially at the end, when, decades later, Nicholas met the children he saved thanks to a TV show. That was my favourite part! I also found it very sad because it reflects what really happened during this dark period and how children needed to leave their parents to survive and never saw them again. The sentence I will always remember from this movie is  » Who saves a life, saves the humanity ».

  29. Se7ven

    I really like this film.
We follow the story of two detectives: David Mills, played by Brad Pitt and William Somerset, played by Morgan Freeman. Their acting is totally insane.
Everything in this film is really well done, whether it is the design, the special effects, the choice of the actors…
David and William, who have to work together, get off to a rather complicated start but create a great relationship.
I’ve always liked thrillers, detective movies and films with suspense, and this one didn’t disappoint me at all.
There’s suspense right to the last minute.
The end makes me so sad for David, who despite his big character tries to do his best.
I would definitely recommend it and I give it a mark of 9.5/10.

  30. Sleeping dogs

I chose the thriller « Sleeping Dogs » for the simple reason that it’s the one I saw in the cinema. It tells the story of an ex-investigator who, following an illness, loses his memory. Trying as best he can to recover his memories, he ventures into an old case he’d closed during his career, but something wasn’t quite right. As the investigation seemed to clear up, everything became increasingly blurred. The story continues until Roy and his partner arrive at the crime scene. His former colleague refreshes his memory and makes him realize that he is the killer after all.

  31. The challengers

I watched “The Challengers” thinking that a Zendaya movie can’t be bad. It wasn’t bad. The images and sound are good, the acting is perfect, but the time seemed long… For the first time, I would have preferred to do maths. I had the impression that the story wasn’t moving forward, and I found the ending very predictable. There was way too much slow motion, which was supposed to add intrigue but only slowed and stretched the story. I did like one thing, when it ended. The film is very well made, I liked the flashback system, but 131 minutes for that it’s too long.

This film is based on the story of a book and for me, this film is just amazing, very well directed, it is one of the most beautiful thrillers I have seen. What I prefer in this kind of film is that it is only at the end that we understand the whole red line of the story. I put the film in my three favourite films.

I think the actors are very well chosen. Morgan Freeman plays super well the role of the old super intelligent policeman, Brad Pitt plays perfectly his role but I find that the one who best embodies his role is Kevin Spacey, in the film the fact that he always remains calm gives us chills. Sounds like a real psychopath, a real serial killer.

Finally I find that the visual of the film is incredible, the decor is really realistic, we are really immersed in the film with places engoissent as the apartment of the killer.

I really advise you to watch this movie because I find it really great!

At the end he is so adorable, nice and cares for the lives of others. All he wants is to find the true love, it also what makes him changes. The best moment in the film is when it’s the last 2 february and he wakes up the third with Rita. This day was only with good vibes and love. I would give this film 8/10, a film to see with your families who will makes the saddest one’s smile again ;).

  34. The killer

It’s not a bad movie, I enjoyed it, but I don’t think I’d recommend it to anyone or re-watch it again. I found the film very long, especially at the beginning, and it was hard to get attached to the main character. I had no interest in him, and his monologues quickly became boring and gave the impression that there was only one character all through the movie. I would have preferred a bit more action, but I did like the only fight scene. Also, I found the script rather banal and the story predictable, full of clichés, it felt like a bad revenge film.

    « Sleeping dog »

I was very curious to discover the plot about this movie, although it was mat a great success at the cinema.

In my opinion it was a good film with a lot of actions and twists during the whole story.

Roy’s characters was very interesting to follow especialy at the end of the story when all the links are made because this former investigator after that he have lost all of his memories tried to recover. He had flashbacks from one of it’s old cases he wanted to reinvestigate in order to find the thruth. He finally found himself in a bad situation. In the last plot twist he turns out that he was the murderer.

As far as I’m concerned I rate this movie a 8.5 out of 10.

  36. Groundhog day: the review

The groundhog day is a film produced by Trevor Albert and Harold Ramis and directed by Harold Ramis. The main players are Bill Murray, Andie MacDowell and Chris Elliott.

The film takes place in Punxsutawney for the groundhog day festival. The legend says if on February the 2nd the groundhog wakes and sees his shadow, so we’ve got 6 more weeks of winter.

Phil Connors, a grumpy and egocentric weatherman lives the same day over and over until he becomes a good person. Even if we always see the same day, we follow Phil’s evolution and there is a lot of fun.

I liked the movie a lot because there’s comedy and romance. Bill Murray is really a fabulous actor who gets under the skin of his character. Groundhog day is the perfect family film.

  37. CHALLENGERS

Challenger is quite a captivating film; once you start it, you want to finish it. I think Zendaya plays her part very well. She manages to convey her emotions very well. As a tennis fan, that made me pay even more attention. The love triangle plot was also captivating, making you wonder what Tashi was going to do. I also liked the fact that in the end Tashi concentrated on herself. It shows that sometimes in moments of doubt or even when you have choices to make, it’s sometimes good to think about yourself and make your own choices. Even if the ending was rather predictable, I think there were better things to do.

This movie is about a nun who, when she was young, was  » saved by God  » during an accident. And then everything goes in an unexpected way. She has to go in another convent ( monastery ) and there, every body’s attitude is strange, they all have a weird obsession with her. Her life takes a sharp turn.

For me this movie is pretty good. When I watched the trailer I thought it would be a horror movie but there is more creepiness than horror. The scenario was good, it is a good story that you can not really predict and it is surprising. The audio was great, it made you focus on what was happening and you could understand the challenge. The visuals were a little too dark sometimes you could not see pretty good and the color pannel was not wide, it was dull.

I would still recommend it it was a nice movie overall.

  39. Groundhog Day

I really liked this movie and I would give it a 7 out of 10. It’s one of those we can watch with the whole family.

My opinion is that the scenario is quite simple but that is what makes its charm.

Also, the end was predictable since the moment Phil tried to seduce Nancy but called her Rita in bed. However, sometimes it’s satisfying to already know the turn of events. More chill and less headlock.

It seems to me that the only bad point is maybe the audio. « I got you babe » from Sonny and Cher has at least passed seven times during the movie. I have the lyrics in mind and, of course, I won’t forget either that there is a big blizzard thing who’s coming in…

I loved the movie « the Groundhog Day ». This movie is a comedy so really simple and that was exactly what I needed. I would rate it a 9 out of ten because nothing worth a 10 to me, but I still enjoyed it . I love the fact that the daily routine was for him the reason he couldn’t enjoy his life anymore, but then, living the same day over and over again made a new him. I just don’t understand how Rita has fell in love with him in one day. Because he has lots of day to fall for her but for Rita it was one single day. Even if he had much time to prepare himself and known her better. Still, this movie is a really good one !

The Duke of York has a problem : he stammers. His stammer becomes a handicap when he has to deliver speeches to the nation. He then meet Lionel Logue, a « doctor » who’s going to help him to stop stammers. The Duke made progress, but when his father, the King, died, his brother acceded to the throne. The only problem is that he wants to marry a divorced American woman. So he was forced to abdicate and the Duke became King. When the Second World War broke out King Georges VI has to make a live speech to the nation. With Lionel’s help, he makes a perfect speech. As far as I am concerned, I loved this film. I loved following the development of the characters. The period’s climate was very well reconstituted. I would definitely recommend this film to anyone who likes history or royalty. In conclusion this story shows us that nothing is impossible.

  42. The movie I chose is “The King’s speech”. The plot focuses on the story of a man compelled to speak to the world with a stammer.

I really enjoyed watching this film for different reasons.

First, I find the scenario quite original. It is really different from what you can see in blockbusters today . The fact that it’s based on a true story made the film really touching and I loved to follow the evolution of the king throughout the film.  In addition, the Royal family is portrayed with great human. I really appreciated that.

Second, I find the actors so good! The three main roles, theking, his assistant and his wife are really well played. It looks so realistic.

All in all, I give a 8,5/10 to this movie.

The sets were also amazing, so realistic and elaborated.

To finish, the end is great. Even if it is a bit predictable, this is the end the viewers want. As you can see, I’m very positive about this movie. However, on the minus points, I would say that the film is sometimes a bit slow.

  43. « Civil war »

When I first saw the trailer of Civil War, I was expecting an action movie but then I saw the movie and… Well there is action but not as expected. However the movie itself isn’t bad, the idea of an apocalyptic situation in the USA is a good idea but, for me, it wasn’t exploited enough.

This movie is directed and produced by Alex Garland.

For the notes, I’ll give a 2/5 because it’s was not the kind of movie I wanted to see. To be honest, I find it a little bit boring and I wasn’t 100% focus on it.

  44. The killer

I don’t really have an opinion on this movie. It’s not bad, but it’s not the best. I think the script has a good basis but it’s very long. It could easily be shortened.

What bothers me most is the fact that the word in this movie is not well balanced. At the beginning when he’s telling us about his work and how he does it … he talks a lot but then throughout the film there’s not much discussion with people or him talking to us. It’s only at the end that he speaks again. We spend more time looking at the images than listening to the movie.

In short, I give it a score of 4/10. It’s not a movie where I would say: « that you have to watch », but it’s not too bad.

I really love the story, the Idea of a serial killer using the seven deadly sins is brilliant. Combine an investigation and some psychologys ideas. It create a truly exciting film. The killer surprise you every times, I like when you think you know what will happend but the film just surprise you. I never thought that the killer will surrend, it’s crazy how when your sure what will happend everything go in the total opposite. I really recommand this movie.

I really enjoyed the film. I love tennis so this film immediately convinced me. I liked the plot around these two friends who have drifted apart. I also liked the friendship between them because I really felt it was close. I thought the actors played very well and that you could feel their feelings. But what I liked best were the camera shots, such as the first-person view and the view under the tennis court. However, I found the flashbacks to the past quite difficult to follow, and I got lost several times in the film. I’d give this film a 4.5. because it’s a really good film, but i think it needs to be watched more often.

  47. I found this film exciting and at the same time scary. The acting of Anthony Hopkins is exceptional. He manages to make Hannibal Lecter scary just in the way he speaks or in his movements. Jodie Foster, who plays the role of Clarice Starling, is also a very good actress. In addition, the articulation of the two actors is easy to understand, what makes the film even more pleasant. However, I did not like the bad Buffalo Bill because I did not always understand what he said and I felt uncomfortable with the character. Regarding the content of the movie, I found it interesting that the FBI is looking for a serial killer and that they use another serial killer to help them find the culprit. My favorite moment is when you think that the FBI is going to capture Buffalo Bill and that they end up in the wrong house while, in the end, it’s Clarice who finds him. To conclude, I really liked the film and I do not regret watching it.

I like this thriller because there is a lot of suspense even if it’s not my kind of film.

The suspense is present non-stop and I thought the actors played well !
I think the story is very well done. The screenwriter had a lot of imagination when creating the story with the butterflies.
I like the discussions between Clarice and Hannibal. At the end of the film, we understand that Hannibal respects Clarice. It’s really special.

I want to see the second part of this movie because I would like to see what happens to several characters (I’m not going to spoil this film in my comment 😉 )

For all these raisons, I give a score of 7,5 on 10 for the movie.

I also like when the motion picture end with the backstage of the movie, like what’s happened in it. The scenario was a little bit simple, easy to understand without twist. For me the references about the old series “the fall guy” like the color of the pick-up or also the two persons who appear at the end was great. I think this is a very good movie, very interesting. The scenario is really great. All the detail’s is well though. I like the fact that this is based on the number 7 with the seven deadly sins and that the detective has seven days left before his retirement. Of course the choice of the actor’s for the movie is important. Morgan Freeman is very wall in his role. However the movie is a bit fucked up with all the dead bodies and the way they have been killed. I think I should watch the movie again to see the little detail’s.

  52. Memento

What a movie! It has been on my watch list for a long time, but I had never taken the time to watch it. I was wrong because Christopher Nolan killed it (as usual).

The way the movie is shot and the way the scenes are arranged make it very special and original. We put ourselves in Leonard Shelby’s shoes. The fact that the color scenes are upside down and interspersed with black and white scenes makes us feel the main character’s handicap: we are unable to remember everything we have seen. Additionally, we are constantly stimulated to try to put the pieces back together and put them in the right order to understand. It keeps us on the edge of our seats. I was hooked right away.

I had no idea how it was going to end and I was just waiting for one thing: the plot twist! To be honest, when it happened, it took me a few moments to realize it. I replayed scenes in my head until I made the connections and finally understood. It’s genius! I hadn’t thought of such an ending for a second.

In my opinion, a good plot twist = a good movie, and this is definitely one.

Today I’d like to give you my opinion on the film « Groundhog Day » .

Honestly, I didn’t have a great time. The story is about a TV presenter condemned to live the same day over and over again. This allows him to try out experiments without any risk. No death, no problems with the law. He can develop his abilities, to pick up girls… But this daily routine soon becomes tiresome for him and for the viewer. How many times have I seen the same scenes repeated ! I understand the director’s intention, but it’s actually so boring. You could easily take out 50 minutes of the film. What’s more, the film has aged rather badly, it’s not always easy to understand the actors’ voices and the acting sometimes seems more like a « sitcom ». The end of the film is rather cute, but unfortunately more than predictable. The concept is fine, but I wouldn’t say the same about the direction. So it’s not a film I’d recommend highly.

I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who likes thriller and police type of film.  The performance of the actors are incredible. They make us feel their emotions and don’t stop to keep us in suspense. The emotions change from angry to disgust to despair. Personally, I was totally into it I was myself thinking about the investigation. It’s interesting to see the 7 sins represented like this. It makes you think about society. They were full unexpected plot twists but the final plot was really the best. He was melodramatic, full of tension but particularly unbelievable. So in conclusion I think it’s one of the best films I have ever seen.

  55. My opinion of the film;

‘Challengers’ is a captivating film featuring exceptional performances from Zendaya, Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor. Zendaya brilliantly plays Tashi Duncan, a former tennis pro, which lends emotion to her character. Mike Faist and Josh O’Connor are equally impressive, adding a palpable intensity to their respective roles as Art Donaldson and Patrick Zweig. Their dynamics and interactions make the love triangle particularly thrilling and I find it rather original, and as someone who enjoys tennis I find it one of the rare films about the sport that is so well made.

However, although the film is strong in terms of performances and character development, the ending leaves a bit to be desired. The conclusion could have been better crafted, and is a little disappointing compared to the intensity and emotional depth of the rest of the film. Despite this, ‘Challengers’ remains a must-see for the quality of its lead actors.

  56. Immaculate:

I found this film great to watch because there were a number of things that made me love it. Firstly, the atmosphere of the film immediately puts you in the mood with the nuns in the old buildings, so you know you’re going to be shivering throughout the film. Then there’s the intrigue, which is pretty interesting because you wonder why Father Sal Tedeschi is so keen on Sister Cecilia and you’re left captivated by the plot to find out the outcome. The acting is also very good, especially that of Sister Cecilia, who didn’t have an easy role to play but managed to make me feel all the fear she was playing and I was impressed. Nevertheless, this type of film is not for everyone, because if you don’t like being scared you won’t survive it.

  57. Personally, I think “The Killer” produced by David Fincher is a bad film. After seeing the trailer, which looked interesting, I’m disappointed because I expected better. The script is really light, and I was bored for a good part of the film. I couldn’t get attached to Michael Fassbender, the main character. The use of monologue voice-overs, which should have added tension, seemed long and tiresome. What’s more, I didn’t find the story original or captivating. On the other hand, I was surprised by the execution of the action scenes. On a scale of zero to ten, I’d give this film a 4. I certainly wouldn’t recommend « the Killer » if you like action-packed movies.

After receiving an award for his work at a ceremony, the child psychologist Dr Malcolm Crowe returns back home with his wife. A former patient hides in Malcolm’s house and blames the psychologist for not helping him when he was a child. Then he shoots  and commits suicide.

After this traumatic event, Malcolm tries to help Cole, a little boy who frequently communicates with dead people.

During this period Malcolm faces great difficulties to communicate with his wife, who seems to have lost interest in him.

Cole advises him to talk to his wife when she is sleeping, because she often talks in her sleep. Once Malcolm hears her asking why he left her, He then realizes that he is dead too.

I really liked this movie because ghost stories frighten and fascinate me.

So, « Challengers » is a fun and exciting movie about tennis, perfect for young viewers. It stars Zendaya as Tashi, a great tennis player who becomes a coach. The movie has lots of thrilling tennis matches and shows the friendships and rivalries between the characters. It teaches that hard work, dedication, and passion are important in sports and life.

The actors do a great job making the story interesting and fun to watch. Zendaya is fantastic as Tashi, bringing lots of energy and emotion to her role. The movie has beautiful scenes that show the excitement of the games and the characters’ personal struggles. Overall, « Challengers » is an inspiring and entertaining film that teaches important lessons about ambition, friendship, and achieving dreams. It’s a great movie for anyone who loves sports and stories about trying hard to be the best.

I really like this movie. The film begins with two tennis players playing a match and several people watching, including a girl called Tashi. Later, we learn that these two young men called Art and Patrick were friends before. There are then many flashbacks to help us to understand what is doing on and why they are no more friends. I found the beginning very slow, and I was waiting for one thing: to go back in time to understand their friendships better. During the film, I dislike the young woman a lot because she gives Art and Patrick a lot of hope and plays hard with their feelings. I’ m more on team Art because he is softer, and he loves Tashi more than Patrick so near the end when he learns that his ex-best friend has had sex with his wife (Tashi), and he starts crying I cried with him because he looked devastated. I really like the end, I found it very touching.

  62. The killer :

To begin with, I truly liked the overall atmosphere of the film; there was this dark and oppressive mood throughout, which provided a true immersion into the world of the main character, a professional assassin. In my eyes, the actor who played the role of the killer (Michael Fassbender) delivered a genuine performance in portraying this cold and calculating character, whose quest was to avenge his partner who was brutally attacked by strangers sent by his employers following the failure of his mission after he missed his target. The action scenes are well orchestrated and intense, offering moments of pure tension. In conclusion, “The Killer” is a good action film to watch despite its sometimes slow pace.

Also, Phil’s character development, how he turned from a depressed bum into a cultured fellow who can play the piano, recite poetry, sculpt ice, and so much more.
Phil’s love for Rita throughout the movie got from a planned scenario to genuine love with actual affection, it seemed moving to me.
