Focus personnel – Lana Stanfield et The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress

  1. The double life

I would say that I really enjoyed this episode from the beginning to the end. That was a pleasure. I didn’t expect this end despite I had some ideas for the end but they didn’t come true.

About the scenario, I’m gonna give a good 4.5 stars on 5 because, like in every episode of this serie, it’s something quite new, something that we never heard about. I didn’t expect the plot twist at the beginning.

Now for the acting, it’s a 4 stars on 5 because I think that more emotions could have been showed even if there is still a lot showed. I also think that their reactions when they are angry are a bit weird. But they were really good anyway.

It’s time to talk about the visual. I think a 4 stars on 5 is perfect. The footage all long is quite good and quite beautiful and especially when they go in the nature and around the house on earth. But I think they should have more used the space aspect and everything about the spaceship.

The fourth criteria is the audio. It was really not bad and deserve a 3.5 stars on 5. I really liked the song « La mer » multiple time and well used but except that, there wasn’t a lot of things which were great. Sometimes that wasn’t understandable so I think the 3.5 stars is good.

A point that I really liked is about the morality, everything about the fact of being jealous and being hopeless. We really discover the feelings of those people who lost everything meanwhile they couldn’t do anything. But I would have loved seeing a bit more their life on Earth for David and Cliff. We arrive into their live without anything about them, about how much they love their family. It’s a shame but the episode was a great episode !!

  2. Life From Above.

First of all, I’d like to give my opinion on this episode: I thought that, despite the fact that it was a little long, it was a very good episode. I kept asking myself questions throughout and the plot really kept me on the edge of my seat! I really liked the contrast between the fact that the story feels like it’s set in the 20th century but they’re already technologically advanced enough to have developed such technology that allows them to connect their minds to robots on Earth while they’re in space.

I’d give the script 4.5 stars. I found it really well written and really well thought out, I really like the fact that throughout the episode we understand as it progresses and that the end is open enough to develop our own theories !

Then, for the acting, I’d say 4. The acting was, in my opinion, all very good but I was really impressed by Cliff’s actor who was very impressive.

As for the visuals, I’d say 5 stars, they were really well done and I really liked the sets and the visual quality of them.

And finally, in terms of sound I’d only give it 3 stars because even though the soundtrack was very effective, I didn’t really notice it and it didn’t really reach me.

  3. Through my eyes

Hi guys! It’s time to give a mark for this short film. So, I’d give a mark of 3.5 for the script, 4 out of 5 for the acting and a score of 3 for the audio, and for the last, the visuals, I’d like to give a note of 5 out of 5. On a scale from zero to five, I would give this film  an overall score of 4 because of some reasons.

Firstly, as far as i’m concerned i found the visuals of the episode, with space, life on earth, etc., were really well done and spectacular. It’s well worth a look just for that. On the other hand, I believe that the audio didn’t match the emotions we were looking for and it was more disturbing than anything else having said that, perhaps that was the intention of the creators.

Secondly, I found the script predictable, but the plot climaxes when David locks Cliff up in space to kill his family using a robot (Cliff’s copy). The creators really pulled out all the stops, especially for the shocking ending.

Thirdly, this episode brought a new vision of androids evolution, and artificial intelligences that we rarely see.

This approach reminded me of « Detroit to become human ». It’s a let’s play that I really liked precisely because of this different vision of the future compared to other science fiction. I certainly would recommend this let’s play, if you like that.

Finally, this episode made me want to watch some other short films in this series.

If you like the original series, you shouldn’t miss this short movie.

  4. A body for two

To begin, I’ll give 4.5 stars for the scenario. Charlie Brooker’s script was good. I thought the plot was great because I kept wondering throughout the episode how it was going to end.

The script also reflects our society, because to be accepted in society, people often change their personality: a person is different depending on whether they’re alone, with their family or in public, and I think that’s a nice parallel with the episode.

Secondly, I think the game was excellent so I’ll put 5. Aaron Paul’s performance is exceptional, because he can switch from one character to another incredibly well, and he’s plausible in both roles.

Then for the visual, I’d say5. This episode offers a captivating visual experience, thanks to the sets that are carefully designed to reflect the life of the 60s-80s in the United States. The decorations of the ship are equally superb. The editing effects when there is Daniel Cliff in space are really impressive and manage to plunge us into this universe.

To conclude, even if the audio is not the main highlight of the episode so it’s 3. I still enjoyed the music used. The audio allows an excellent expression of the emotions of the characters, whether in their voice or their tears.

I really enjoyed this episode. I really enjoyed the plot until the end, we wondered what was going to happen. The actors played perfectly and were able to convey their emotions in a remarkable way. The way they demonstrated how individuals can hate or idolize new technologies, as is the case today with AI, really seduced me. The sets and visual effects were really well done, which allowed me to fully immerse myself in this period of 1969.

  6. bloody jealousy

I really enjoyed this episode, I watched the whole episode without having the urge to open tiktok, I wasn’t bored at all during the film. I had the impression that I knew what was going to happen, but in the end I was rather surprised.

for the scenario, I would say 5 stars, I loved the originality and the moral of the story. In general, science fiction scenarios are rather predictable, but I found it very original. This story shows that people sometimes have difficulty managing their emotions. The 2 astronauts who were supposed to help each other throughout the mission end up in total chaos because of jealousy. it’s a good moral lesson.

about the acting, I would say 4, I didn’t really care about that but, I haven’t seen any problem about.

for the images, nothing to say, it’s very well filmed so I give it 5 stars, We get a good feel for the episode.

about the sound, I would say 3 stars, some of the music was poorly integrated and I was rather shocked by some of the soundtracks, which I think could have been better chosen to make us feel certain emotions more strongly.

  7. The lie

I really liked this episode because I found that there was a great plot throughout the story. I think that this film should not be shown to just anyone because there are scenes that could be shocking. I loved the story because I’m a big fan of science fiction. There is also a lot of work on feelings. We were really able to understand the thoughts of the different characters. It also shows us the dangerousness of jealousy and makes us think.

I give the scenario a score of 3.5/5. Because I found the story easy to follow and intriguing. But however I find it too easy to guess what happens next. However I was very surprised at the end.

I give the acting a score of 4.5/5. Because I loved the way the actors played. Especially Aaron Paul. I found that he managed to change well between the two characters.

I give the visual a score of 4.5/5. Because I was amazed by the decorations. I found them super realistic. I found that we had the impression of being with them and experiencing the same thing. The decorators have thought of everything, even down to the smallest details.

Finally I give the audio a score of 4/5. I found that the sound effects were very realistic and immersive.

To conclude, I advise you to go see it. I think it’s a classic to go see.

Ps: don’t come complaining so crazy and spend all your night on the series. I would have warned you 🙂

  8. One body, one soul ?

I give the script a mark of 3,5. It’s poignant but takes a long time to get going. What’s more, you obviously expect something to happen.

Acting: I give it a 4.5. You can really feel the distress of the characters throughout the film and the different emotions they perceive.

Visual: 4.5: I really appreciated the effort put into the sets. You really feel you’re in the right period. I found the film’s desire to create highly cinematic, aesthetically pleasing shots relevant and enjoyable for the viewer.

Audio: 4: You really feel like you’re in a bubble, with the sound effects and ambience on point. The characters’ voices are understandable and stand out well, above the overall soundscape.

I wasn’t familiar with the series, but it’s easy to understand what’s going on. I found the idea of 2 timelines very interesting. It’s actually quite easy to follow the film despite the 2 timelines. So this is a film that I enjoyed more for its artistic side than for the story behind it.

  9. The Impostor

First of all, I’ll give a general mark of 3.5/5 stars. I enjoyed the episode, but the end left me hungry. Indeed, I really wanted to know what Cliff would have done to David. Yes, it is a good idea not to showing the end because it lets the spectator imagine the scene but personally, I wanted to see the scenarists’ vision.

Next, I really like the idea of duplicate their souls in another body even if it still is them but in a sort of robot. In consequence I’d give a 3.5/5 for the scenario. For the acting I will leave a 4 out of 5. Remark on Aaron Paul who had to act two characters and did the job very well. Then for the visual, the scenery on earth was really beautiful, they find a really good place and in the space, they created a remarkable spaceship. With all this, I give 4 out of 5 too. Also, the fact that there often is a moral behind the episodes of black mirror make the spectator think about what he has just watched. Finally, I wanted to give a 3 out of 5 for the audio, I liked the use of La Mer by Charles Trenet which come back at some specials moments in the episode.

In conclusion, it is a good black mirror’s episode which everybody who likes the series would like it.

    J’aime

  10. Betrayal

For begin, I will give a general mark of 4 out of 5 stars, because I really liked this episode.

Firstly, I would leave a 3.5 note for the scenario thanks to the good shape of the plot and the dialogues between each character would be different even tho it’s from the same body, for example the discussion between the animatronic of Cliff and his wife.

Some about the acting, in my opinion the job was well done especially when Aaron Paul can switch from one character to another.

The visual quality, it is clear that the decorations was realistic and these objects helped create an atmosphere that projet us into the movie.

Finally, same as the visual effects, the different songs that pass trough the story make us feel the same impression as the character are living.

Overall, I enjoyed the intrigue throughout the story and especially the final punchline, which I hadn’t anticipated. Although, the scene in the barn where the man, who isn’t her real husband, tries to seduce his host’s wife was for me very unhealthy and uncomfortable. What’s more, the music that accompanied this atrocity put me in a state of shock, because at the beginning of the episode, the man was dancing to the same music with his wife, and with the same movements.

  11. same body, different mind

In overall I give this episode a good rating of 4 stars out of 5

I thought the script was very well imagined when it was created. In some films, you risk not following the course of the story, but in this one, despite the recurring space-time jumps throughout the story, I was able to understand the episode without getting lost. I think that it’s deserve a good 3.5 out of 5

For me, the roles of the main actors in the story have been imitated to perfection, and for this I give a score of 4.5 out of 5. In fact, in the episode, only one actor, who is a robot, receives two different spirits, that of his basic other and that of his colleague. However, we mustn’t forget that in reality, it’s one and the same actor who has to imitate both roles, and I find it incredible that she succeeded so well.

In this case, there were two very distinct sets. The first was the earth with the green bone, the beautiful houses, the population etc., and the other was the ship with its compasses rather than electronic buttons, little life, no trees, no greenery. This really highlighted the loneliness that one of the ship’s passengers had been experiencing since his robot was shot down. I give a rating of four stars out of five for the decor.

Like everything else, audio is very important for immersion and understanding the story. In this case, I was particularly taken aback when there were changes in sound effects that showed a change in space, such as between the ship and Earth, or even in key situations in the episode, such as when the colleague who borrows the other’s robot via a chip is seducing his colleague’s wife to a song, and thanks to the song, I kept a very clear memory of that moment. For getting me into the story of this episode, I give it a good 4 out of 5.

One thing I didn’t like was all the violence and the blood that was part of it, but without seeing the beaten body. It made me feel that the violence was so atrocious that we couldn’t show the body, and I found that special at the time. In my opinion, it was mainly because I hadn’t imagined that the character was so far removed from the world of violence.

  12. Beyond the sea

    Ratings:

    Scenario: 4/5

    Acting: 5/5

    Visuals: 4/5

    Audio: 3/5

    My Honest Opinion:

The “Beyond the Sea” episode of Black Mirror explores profound themes such as grief, humanity, and the consequences of advanced technology. The story follows two astronauts, Cliff and David, who are on a space mission while using robotic replicas to live with their families on Earth. This original concept raises compelling ethical and emotional dilemmas.

The performances by the actors, particularly Josh Hartnett and Aaron Paul, are outstanding, bringing a gripping depth to their characters. The visuals, whether in space or on Earth, are immersive and beautifully highlight the contrast between these two worlds. However, the audio quality was somewhat disappointing. The dialogues were occasionally unclear, and the sound effects lacked impact, but this is likely due to the fact that we watched the episode in class under less-than-ideal conditions.

The pacing of the episode felt a bit slow at times, but the conclusion was powerful and thought-provoking, leaving viewers to reflect on the nature of empathy, sacrifice, and humanity.

    Conclusion:

“Beyond the Sea” is a moving and well-written episode, despite a few technical flaws experienced during our class viewing. It is worth watching for its compelling themes and remarkable performances.

  13. A body on earth for two people above

To begin with, I’m going to rate the episode on a few points.

The script: I’d give the script 4 out of 5. I enjoyed the episode, and the ending was hardly predictable. The beginning was a bit hard to understand though.

Acting: I’d give it 4 stars. I thought some people didn’t show enough emotion, but Aaron Paul’s ability to change his acting was quite remarkable.

Visual: 5, because I found the images quite captivating to look at. Well, shot and beautifully decorated.

Audio: I’d put 4, there’s not much to say, the sounds were good.

I really enjoyed the episode from start to finish, it makes me want to watch more of this series. At the start we didn’t really understand what was going on and then we wonder what was going to happen next.

I advise to watch this episode, and it’s one that you can watch at home like it’s not kind of movie that you watch at the cinema and it’s all.

The only thing that I didn’t really like was that it was long, I think we could go faster. I don’t see other things except that.

  14. Beyond the movie

After seeing the movie I can give my honest thinking.

For the scenario I give 4 of 5 because I had never seen a movie like this and that the story is special. I was absorbed by the movie, it was very interesting. However it was sometimes very strange and odd.

The actors played very well. They were really in the skin of their character and they didn’t foul in their interpretation. So I give a 5 of 5.

The visual is really incredible. Indeed I really thought it was a real space shuttle. Everything in the movie seems true. So I give 4.5 of 5 for the visual.

I give 3.5 of 5 for the audio because the songs are well chosen for the moments and what happens. It is not especially incredible but that’s fine.

My opinion on the movie is that I liked it a lot and the story is very interesting. I felt the emotions of the characters. However there are some moments I didn’t like. As an example, the scene in the beginning where David’s family was killed because the real David is in the space and on earth that’s a bot.

I think everybody can watch this movie because it is not boring, not a horror film, maybe not for the very little children because they might don’t understand the movie.

  15. a familiar future, an unfamiliar fate

honestly, i enjoyed watching this episode even if it could sometimes be a little too slow and foreseeable.

about the scenario, i’m gonna give a 4/5. it was really well thought out. the (sometimes too) slow, oppressive script lets us digest each decision and interaction. the ending is shocking (if a little predictable) and, since we’ve become attached to the character of cliff, it moves us.

now, for the acting, i would give a 4/5 (again) because i think the actors did a good job of conveying the emotions of the movie. i was really irritated by david’s actions and by cliff’s excessive kindness.

then, i’m gonna talk about the visuals. i’ll give a 4.5/5. i found the retro-futuristic aspect interesting, whether in the designs of the robotic replicas or the space interiors. it gives the story a familiar yet offbeat temporality, amplifying the sense of unease.

it’s now time to talk about the audio. honestly, i saw this episode in a classroom so i can’t really juge the quality so i will juge the orginality and atmosphere. the music is generally quiet and heavy, or melancholy, to reinforce the mood. i find this very well done, as it amplifies the feeling of unease that the scenario already gave us. so i’m gonna give a 3.5/5.

finally, i will give 4/5 to this episode. i found it really interesting and, if you like this series, you might love it.

  16. Human Jealousy

I’d give the script a 2 because the idea is well thought out but it’s fairly predictable from the moment the first family dies. The ending wasn’t necessary for the story.

As for the acting, I’d give it a 5 because you can really see the characters’ pain. The actors are really into their roles and it’s great to watch.

For the visuals I’d put 4, there are lots of different places that are always beautiful and that’s good.

For the audio I’d give it a 4, there’s nothing special. Sometimes it was a bit loud and sometimes not loud enough.

I didn’t like it because I don’t like this genre and the story is totally predictable so it’s boring. Everyone realises what’s going to happen when the first family dies. And the ending wasn’t necessary, it was too much. It’s quite slow at first and you don’t really understand what’s going on. I think it’s a long episode for this story. I liked the landscapes and the different characters. It brought diversity. I thought the idea of their clones on Earth was a good one and well thought out. It’s annoying to know that the 2 astronauts will still have to cohabit for four years at the end of the episode given everything that’s happened.

  17. For the scenario, I would like to give the mark out of 4,5 / 5,I found the story really surprising and different from other series on Netflix. The episode was full of unexpected plot twists. The end of the episode was really sad and I don’t like it, and I also think that it was too quick.

For the acting,I give the mark out of 4/5. At first I thought I wouldn’t like it because it seemed old, but in the end I thought the actors played it particularly well. Cliff Stanfield was my favorite karakter. He was very convincing because  the end brought tears to my eyes.

For the visual, I’m not sure what to think, I found it very old but in the end I think it goes well with the story. So I give the mark out of ⅗

For the audio, I don’t have much to say, it was good. I give the mark out of ⅗

I strongly recommend watching this episode but only if you like psychological movies. It was really different from movies I usually watch, but I enjoyed watching this episode. If you want to see a series with an interesting, confusing, and melodramatic story I recommend it !

  18. This episode of ‘BLACK MIRROR’ is very strange…
I thought the images were good, which is why I give 4/5 for the images.
The sound was a little worse than the images, often needing to be adjusted to get perfect hearing, which is why I give 3/5 for the volume.
The script was good, even very good. I really liked the story even if it was very strange, in fact, the ending is horrible… I give 4.5/5 for the script.
the acting was good you could feel the emotions watching the episode i give 4/5
    In conclusion,

    Beyond the sea

I thought the script was OK. It was complicated to understand at first but after 20 minutes I think you get a good grasp of the characters and their roles. I’d give the script a score of 3/5.

In terms of action, I found the film a little slow. There’s only action at the beginning and at the end.
The author goes round in circles in the middle of his film.
    So I’d give it a 2/5.

As for the visuals, the images and colour were of good quality. There were no scenes where the lighting was too bright or too dark.
    5/5

As for the audio, I have nothing to say about it either, it was very good. Perhaps sometimes the sound was a little too loud but it wasn’t shocking and it didn’t disturb anyone.
    4/5

I really enjoyed this film, I wasn’t expecting the ending at all. I was surprised.
I think it’s a shame that it had to end in blood and that the main characters are like « robots ».
But overall it’s a good film.

  20. « Black mirror » « Beyond the sea » review:
Scénario : 4/5 : the idea of the story is great but the developpement is a little too long.
Acting : 4/5 : there are not easy roles to play and overall I thought it is pretty wel done.
Visual : 5/5 : I’m not a professional but I thought the decor was well done and in keeping with the theme.
Audio : 4/5 : The occasional sound effects and music really add to the atmosphere.
    In this series.
The atmosphere, accentuated by the sound effects and music, and the very special story (I wonder how it was invented) are the main assets of this episode of « Black mirror ». Even if the episode is a little long and the plot takes a while to unfold, it’s very well done and the actors play well, even if the roles aren’t easy. The main characters have very different lives, even if they get on well in the begin. For me, the ending is a little too trash and I have to admit that I hadn’t imagined it like that. It’s also hard to understand the story at the beginning, to place the characters and the context in which they evolve.

  21. Beyond the lies

I enjoyed watching this episode because the story was good and I liked the utopian and futuristic atmosphere.

Scenario : I am impressed by the senario that I find really good. I don’t find the beginning too complicated to understand.
I see the originality behind the story. It is quite interesting that the episode starts like in a dream but quickly becomes dramatic. I wouldn’t like it to happen in the real life. The scenario is full of unexpected plot twists. I’d give 4/5.

Acting : The acting of the actors is fine. It must be challenging for the actors because the characters have very different and specific personalities. They succeed in communicating all the emotions to the spectators. That is a really great job. I’d give a 4/5.

Visual : The visuals and the colors are really qualitative: the color contrasts in the space, in the craft, and even on earth are pretty good. It immediately helps the spectators to understand changes in the atmosphere. I’d give 4/5.

Audio : The audio is fairly convincing, with good sound that matches the scenes and the ambience. Sometimes the songs are too loud when the characters speak, we can’t hear or understand but most of the time it is acceptable. I’d give 3/5.

All things considered, my opinion is that it was a good episode. I would recommend it, even more if you like science fiction series.

    Storyline: 4/5

    Acting: 4.5/5

    Visuals: 4/5

    Audio: 5/5

« Beyond the Sea, » an episode from Black Mirror, is an intriguing exploration of humanity, morality, and the fragility of human relationships. The story is both captivating and unsettling, drawing viewers into a world of futuristic technology and emotional complexity.

The acting is a standout, with the cast delivering raw and authentic performances that truly bring the characters’ struggles to life. The visual design effectively creates a stark contrast between the sterile, futuristic setting and the emotional chaos of the narrative. The audio, particularly the haunting score, adds an extra layer of immersion, elevating the tension and drama to new heights.

However, the episode is not without flaws. The beginning feels disjointed and overly complex, making it challenging to fully grasp the premise at first. Additionally, the ending is somewhat bizarre, leaving viewers with more questions than answers. While ambiguity is often a hallmark of Black Mirror, the conclusion might feel unsatisfying to some.

Despite these minor issues, the overall story, character development, and thematic depth make « Beyond the Sea » a remarkable episode. It’s a thought-provoking journey that lingers in your mind long after the credits roll. For those who enjoy reflective, emotionally charged sci-fi, this is a must-watch.

    Exploration Beyond Limits

    Scénario :4/5

    Acting :4/5

    Visual :3,5/5

    Audio :4,5/5

Beyond the Sea is a captivating Black Mirror episode that brilliantly blends science fiction with human drama. Set in an alternate 1960s reality, it delves into profound themes such as isolation, grief, and the complexity of human relationships.

The story follows two astronauts on a space mission, who are able to experience life on Earth through android replicas. This clever concept raises fascinating questions about identity and the limits of technology. The episode takes an intense turn when a tragedy disrupts this balance, plunging the characters into a deeply emotional and moral struggle.

The production design is impeccable, creating an immersive retrofuturistic atmosphere. The attention to detail in the sets and costumes enhances the authenticity of this alternate era, while maintaining the unsettling tone characteristic of the series.

The interactions between the characters drive the narrative, highlighting their tensions, sacrifices, and difficult moral decisions. The pacing builds steadily, with every moment packed with emotional weight, culminating in an ending that is both tragic and unforgettable.

Beyond the Sea is a powerful reflection on humanity, once again proving Black Mirror’s ability to merge technology and drama to deliver a thought-provoking and unforgettable experience.

  24. “Isolation in the Stars”

    Scenario: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)

The premise is compelling, but the story suffers from slow pacing and predictable plot twists. While it introduces interesting themes, it doesn’t fully explore them, leaving the narrative feeling incomplete.

    Acting: ★★★★☆ (4/5)

Aaron Paul and Josh Hartnett deliver strong performances that elevate the material. Their emotional depth and on-screen chemistry stand out, though Kate Mara’s character feels underdeveloped.

    Cinematography: ★★★★☆ (4/5)

Visually stunning with a strong contrast between the coldness of space and the warmth of Earth. Every shot is carefully composed, enhancing the story’s atmosphere.

    Sound Design/Score: ★★★☆☆ (3/5)

The minimalist soundtrack and subtle sound design complement the mood but sometimes lack the intensity needed to amplify key moments of tension.

    Overall Impression:

“Beyond the Sea” is visually impressive and well-acted but falls short in storytelling. It hints at deep psychological themes but doesn’t quite deliver the emotional impact it promises.

  26. Sad revenge

    Scenario : 1/5

I find that the scenario is not really exciting because the episode was too slow with many unnecessary details. I also think it takes a while to understand the subject of the story.

    Acting : 4/5

The characters were very convincing because we could read the emotions on their faces, so it was easier to get involved in the film. Despite the bad scenario (according to my point of view).

    Visual : 5/5

I don’t have many things to say because I find it very good. The house was beautiful; there were many colors but none of them was predominated. Finally, the spaceship was very realistic.

    Audio : 5/5

Like the visual, I have nothing to say. The sound was not monotonous. Sometimes it was louder and other times lower.

    Conclusion :

I dislike this episode. I know that my marks are good except for the scenario but for me, when the acting of the scenario is not good, the movie or the episode cannot be nice. Unlike audio and visual, if even they are bad, the movie can be a great movie. For example, some old films can be great even if the visual quality is not good.

This episode seems to me very long while when I like a movie, I have the impression that time goes by fast.

  28. A beautiful story with a dark ending

« Beyond the Sea » is an interesting episode of Black Mirror that explores the consequences of advanced technology. The story is about two astronauts stranded in space, who use technology that allows them to live in a clone of their bodies on Earth to stay in touch with their families. I really liked the story: it was creative and made me think about the impact of technology on our lives.Visually, the episode is magnificent. The acting is also excellent. The actors did an excellent job of showing the emotional struggle of their characters, especially in such an extreme situation. However, while the first part of the episode was really interesting, I didn’t like the ending. It was very sad and dark. When one of the astronauts loses his family and then hurts his friend’s family, it was too upsetting for me. I felt the story became too heavy at the end. Overall, I enjoyed the episode, but the sad ending left me feeling down.

  30. One body for two

To start this episode really kept me in suspense with all the twists and turns that there were. On a scale from zero to five, I’d give this film 3,5/5 because it’s not necessarly my usual style of film. But I would definitely recommend this film to anyone who likes suspense films and series, who likes the situation turns and futures alternative realities.

    • For the script, I would put the note of 4,5/5 because it is well written, it plays with our feelings and we all stress the episode.
    • For acting, I would put the note of 4/5 cases I like the fact that the actors are not necessarily too know so we can more easily associate them with theirs characters. I also find their acting very convincing and well played.
    • For the visual, it is very basic, nothing crazy for futuristic film (but I liked the special effects of David hand when a person from the sect cuts him). So I would put the note of 3/5.
    • And for the audio, I would put the note of 3,5/5 because I liked the musics « La Mer » de Charles Trenet that they put at the beginning of the episode when everyone was fine. Then they put it back to close the episode that ended badly.

In conclusion, I liked this episode because it shows us that man is and will always be violent and will all to take away others in his fall.

  31. Review of Black Mirror, Season 6, Episode 3

    Overall Rating: 3.5/5

    1. Acting: 4/5

The acting in this episode is solid. The main actors deliver convincing and emotional performances that match the dark and intense tone of the story. The characters feel believable, and the actors effectively convey their struggles and emotions. However, some secondary characters feel underdeveloped, which slightly weakens the overall impact.

    2. Scenario: 3/5

The story explores thought-provoking themes, as Black Mirror often does, but this episode lacks the originality of earlier seasons. While it raises interesting questions about morality and technology, the plot can feel predictable at times. The pacing is uneven, with a slow buildup and a rushed ending, leaving some elements unexplained or unresolved.

    3. Images: 4/5

Visually, the episode is impressive. The cinematography captures the bleak and unsettling atmosphere typical of Black Mirror. The use of lighting and framing adds tension and highlights key moments. However, the visuals lack the groundbreaking or unique aesthetic that some other episodes of the series have delivered in the past.

    4. Sound: 3/5

The sound design and music are effective but not memorable. The score enhances the mood and complements the dark tone of the story, but it doesn’t stand out as particularly innovative. Sound effects are used well to create tension, but there are moments where the audio feels too generic or uninspired.

    Conclusion:

This episode of Black Mirror offers a good mix of strong performances and engaging visuals, but its predictable story and average sound design prevent it from being one of the best in the series. Fans of the show may still appreciate its themes, but it doesn’t fully capture the magic of earlier seasons.

  32. The scriptwriter has a mental problem

    • Scenario: 3.5

    • Acting: 4.5

    • Visual: 5

    • Audio: 4.5

At the beginning of the film,  I had some difficulties to understand what they were. It was only after that I understood they were androids. I liked very well the relationship between David and Cliff.

For me the scenario is a little bit too predictable. At the beginning when we see a strange car in front of the house, I knew that David and his family were going to die or having serious problems.

Another thing I found predictable was when David began to look at Lana too much, I thought he was going to fall in love for Lana and never return his link to Cliff but I would never have imagined that he would kill Lana the wife of Cliff and their son.

I find also that the scenario is a bit strange. The scriptwriter have many imagination and maybe some problems in his head for having so many ideas for the storytelling of this episode. I think it’s strange to think at this story. How he have all these ideas?

Otherwise this episode is very nice. Many scenes in this space are very beautify and with the music that give a particular atmosphere. If you like the science fiction, the film about space or film with strange behaviour,  you shouldn’t miss this episode.
